The Sanctuary Tattoo Studio was founded with a simple vision: to create more than just a tattoo shop and continue breaking the stigma of what a tattoo shop looks and feels like.

Originally opened as a partnership, the studio eventually transitioned into solely owned and operated by Ryan Nickens, who now runs The Sanctuary alongside his family.

Built from the ground up through hard work, long nights, and a deep love for the industry, The Sanctuary has always been about people first. We believe getting tattooed should be an experience that feels welcoming, comfortable, and personal. Whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth, everyone who walks through our doors deserves to feel seen, respected, and at home.

The name The Sanctuary was chosen intentionally. A sanctuary is a place of refuge, a safe space where you can be yourself, leave the outside world behind for a while, and create something meaningful. That's the environment we've worked to build. We want our studio to feel less like a business transaction and more like a place where stories are shared, memories are made, and art becomes a part of who you are.

Today, The Sanctuary remains family operated and community driven. Every tattoo, every conversation, and every person who trusts us with their vision is part of the story we're continuing to build. We are grateful to be a place where creativity, connection, and authenticity come together, one tattoo at a time.
